OUR STORY
Wormticklers began in 2012 with a simple, powerful mission: to get healthy, organic, and plastic-free seedlings into the hands of every Australian grower. Founded by Jordan Sly, a certified permaculturist, our journey has been defined by a deep commitment to food sovereignty and sustainable, chemical-free agriculture.
While our roots have been firmly planted at our original Kenthurst nursery for over 14 years, our mission has taken us across the country. This included an incredible six-year chapter growing onsite at The Farm in Byron Bay and having our flagship store in the Northern Rivers, where we became a community hub for organic growing. We’ve always believed that the best food starts with the best soil and the strongest seedlings, a philosophy we’ve shared deeply on platforms like the Deep in the Weeds podcast, discussing the grit and passion behind the Australian food industry.
Today, we continue that legacy from our Kenthurst home, raising strong, seasonal seedlings for a new generation of gardeners.
BEYOND THE GARDEN BED
Wormticklers has always been about more than just selling plants—it’s about education and inspiration. From sharing our "Seed-to-Supper" philosophy with growers nationwide to our recurring role as resident gardening experts on the TODAY Show, we’ve spent over a decade helping Australians grow with confidence.
To date, our signature biodegradable coir pots have saved over 800,000 plastic pots from landfill. We believe that every garden has the potential to be a design feature of the home and a source of incredible nutrition. Whether you catch us at our weekly Sydney markets or order a seasonal box online, we’re here to help you grow a greener, healthier future—one seedling at a time.
